I started playing thinking it would be a fun combat game with epic bosses, something like Ghost of Tsushima (edit: I'm talking about the fights, not the bosses). Bosses... Elden Ring? I really like it; I recently completed Rennal. I'm playing it with a relatively easy mod (can I be burned at the stake for this? :)) because I like the world, some little-known lore details, the gameplay, and the exploration. I just don't want to do 8,000 runs just to beat one boss. Yeah, I'm terrible at that.
Personally, Wukong's combat system doesn't come close to the fluidity of Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones is one of those games where you crank the difficulty up because the combat is incredibly engaging and dynamic.
It's worth noting that I respect Wukong as a technical achievement and, overall, as a quality game. It just wasn't for me.
Wukong has less flow and freedom than more classic action games, but it places a greater emphasis on precision and anticipation. Some people enjoy this, others don't and that's okay. It's not a universal action game, but a rather niche experience, just beautifully packaged. If you're still interested in returning or trying it again, many people get the game via black myth steam key because it's a convenient way to quickly get started without any hassle. In any case, respect for the game as an achievement is absolutely justified.
